Movies To Watch In August

So, here we have compiled a list of must-see movies for the month of August. Missing out on an of these is not an option. You can thank me later. Here we go:

 

The Dark Tower

August 1

The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black, determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.

 

Detroit

August 2

A police raid in Detroit in 1967 results in one of the largest RACE riots in United States history. The story is centred around the Algiers Motel incident, which occurred in Detroit, Michigan on July 25, 1967, during the racially charged 12th Street Riot. It involves the death of three black men and the brutal beatings of nine other people: seven black men and two white women.

 

Wind River

August 3

An FBI agent teams with a town’s veteran game tracker to investigate a murder that occurred on a Native American reservation.

 

Annabelle: Creation

August 4

Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a doll-maker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the doll-maker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.

 

The Glass Castle

August 5

A young girl comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads with a mother who’s an eccentric artist and an alcoholic father who would stir the children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.

The Only Living Boy in New York

August 6

Adrift in New York City, a recent college graduate’s life is upended by his father’s mistress.

The Trip to Spain

August 7

Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon embark on a six-part episodic road trip through Spain, sampling the restaurants, eateries, and sights along the way.

 

The Hitman’s Bodyguard

August 8

Atomic Blonde

August 9

A Ghost Story

In this singular exploration of legacy, love, loss, and the enormity of existence, a recently deceased, white-sheeted ghost returns to his suburban home to try to reconnect with his bereft wife.
